Classes I Really Want to Take

I'm dying to sign up for a bunch of cooking, sewing, knitting and screen printing classes.  I wish I had unlimited funds.  I'd do some pretty cool stuff. And I'd probably sign up for the 5 week beginning garment construction course at Lillstreet Art Center in Chicago first.

Weekend Crafting: Skirt with Pockets

 

I'm dying to try the tutorial for this skirt with pockets from Freshly Picked.  I haven't decided on the fabric yet, but I'm leaning toward Amy Butler's Memento Midnight from Sew Mama Sew.  I'll post pictures next week of the final product.  Yay for skirts and dresses with pockets.

Herb Garden

I'm so envious of people that successfully grow indoor herb gardens.  Mine looks less like this lovely version:

And more like what's currently on a sometimes sunny spot on my radiator:

I'm pretty sure that parsley only has a few days before it's totally dead. I'm starting to feel bad for even trying to grow plants. It's got to be some form of negligence to bring them into the world only to watch them die like this. Maybe I'll get an aero garden. They look fool proof.
